Fonte di eterna giovinezza (fountain of youth), Chalk festival 2019

In omaggio allo stato della Florida, e quindi alla Fonte dell’eterna giovinezza, che, secondo la leggenda, il condottiero spagnolo Juan Ponce de León nel 1513, andava cercando in quelle terre indicate dagli indios, scoprendo così una terra affascinante e ricca di risorse naturali.

Una donna, personificazione della Florida, beve l’acqua proveniente dalla fonte, in una bacinella contenente dei fiori, simbolo della vitalità e gioia di vivere. Le mani di anziana, il volto già trasformato in una bella e giovane donna, così come si intende la Florida, descrive il momento della trasformazione in giovane età e del rinnovamento, a simboleggiare l’eterna ricchezza e bellezza che essa possiede e che continuerà ad avere in futuro.

A tribute to the State of Florida, and therefore to the Source of eternal youth, which, according to the legend, in 1513, the Spanish warlord Juan Ponce de León, was looking for in those lands indicated by the Indios, thus discovering a fascinating and rich in resources natural land.
